Since 2007 Kenya Aid has partnered with Holdsworth House Medical Practice, a community medical practice in Sydney’s CBD that has expertise in sexual health and clinical research.
Holdsworth House is made up of an association of general practitioners committed to sharing knowledge so as to provide care that meets all of the needs of the local community. Established in 1992, the practice now has an in-depth knowledge of CBD and near-city health issues and lifestyles.
Kenya Aid and Holdsworth House share the passion of fighting the burden of HIV and AIDS. Their vision is to provide rural Kenyan with quality health care and also to promote education for preventative health strategies. The focus is to optimise the model health care clinic in Shikunga and then to expand the health care network to other areas of need in Western Kenya.
A new direction is being forged with future plans to build an AIDS hospice in Shikunga alongside the new hospital. This aims to provide dignity and medical support to terminally ill HIV sufferers.
Holdsworth House are also a major sponsor offering generous financial support to help build and promote Kenya Aid’s in-country activities.
In 2011 Kennards Self Storage generously provided Kenya Aid with some much needed storage space in their Penrith facility. As we’ve been collecting goods for our hospital, storage had become a problem. We had a number of hospitals here in Australia wanting to donate some pretty valuable items to the hospital in Shikunga but we were in a bit of a pickle – we had no-where to store these goods until they were ready to ship in 2012.
Thankfully, Kennards came to the rescue. Their super friendly and professional team have offered 12 months storage at no cost. Check out their website for your own storage solutions!
